'Lets have a day exploring and having fun with our camera's,' was the call out Lamb made to our dear friends Susie and Ross. With plans to go to the Underbelly Arts Festival on Cockatoo Island, the call out was easy to achieve. First stop of the day was to meet at Greenwich Wharf in time to make the 12.31pm ferry. Well yes we got to Greenwich and yes we met at the wharf, unfortunately Lamb and I made it for 12.40pm and thus a hour wait for the next ferry.
1 Comment 5.45am on a Saturday morning. What would you be doing? Once a upon a time I would be coming home from the night before. Now the early morning is usually spent tucked in catching up on sleep from the working week. Last weekend, at 5.45am, we were warming up the car on a frosty Autumn morning, getting ready to head out to Flemington to explore Paddy's Fresh Food Markets.
We are proud to announce a new arrival. It's not the bouncing, girgling kind; but snappy snap sort. We have a new camera. Wanting to take the new toy for a spin, we headed to Centennial Park on a perfect Autumn Day
There is nothing better than a day off. You get to enjoy all the things you love to do on a weekend, with the added pleasure of knowing that you, unlike your colleagues, are not at work. On a recent day off, the Lamb had a brilliant idea and suggested we go to the annual Sculpture by the Sea. Located at the world famous Bondi Beach, the Sulpture by the Sea exhibition was superb. Recommend to all When asked by the lovely Rachel and Eddie to join their fundraising team for the World Homeless Day Sleepout at Centennial Park, we jumped at the chance Why? Well first of all we could contribute to Mission Australia's Mission Beat by doing something as simple as sleeping Second. A once in a lifetime opportunity to sleep in the beautiful Centennial Park The start of the evening was quite chilled. With a expected crowd of 350 in attendance, the organisers had done well to provide a multitude of entertainment including local bands, karaoke and a moonlight cinema.
This months Daring Bakers Challenge gave the choice between making either a Baked Alaska or ice cream Petit Fours. Me being a over achiever thought heck yeah...I'll do both!
We all love to give to charity right.
It's a pretty easy process. You give what you can and in return you get the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you've done something to help some one else. Though there are times when charity needs to begin at home. Well that's why Rethreads @ Carriageworks is so brilliant. Held in conjunction with Oxfam, Rethreads is a mass clothing exchange where you get to clear out your wardrobe and swap your unwanteds for someone elses unwanteds and everyone gets to go home with new clothes and the satisfaction of knowing you've done something good. Being early for a breakfast date on Sunday morning, we thought what better way to stay out of the cold than to hang out in the QVB
Where to start with a first post? Well being that this blog has coincided with our recent move to Newtown, Sydney; our first post will be all the wonderful discoveries we've made in the last three months A Newtown StreetThis is our street, nice and green, plenty of terrace houses and by the looks of it a good support for Christmas decorations. Our kind of people Street Art The picture above, from Darley Lane. So beautiful. Kind of silences those who say graffitti is vandalism
